Coating of diesel engine with new generation ceramic material to improve combustion and performance

In this study, piston and valve surfaces of a Diesel engine to improve exhaust emis?sion performance values, NiCr with bond coat without Cr2O3, Al2O3+13%TiO2, Cr2O3+25%Al2O3 coatings were coated using plasma spray method. By examining the micro-structures coating materials, it was observed that good is formed. unlike other applications, two different proportions specific ceramic powders on combustion chamber elements, mounted engine, their effects emissions tested dynamometer. For purpose, internal operated at 1400, 1700, 2000, 2300, 2600, 2900, 3200 rpm speeds power, torque, in-cylinder pressure changes heat release rate values recorded. results obtained by comparing thermal barrier standard engine. An increase 14.92% in maximum 12.35% 13% pressure, 4.5%, brake efficiency 10.17% detected, while fuel consumption decreased 14.96%.
